DAY 9: I am grateful for the little things.
Specifically, bacon and coffee. YUM! The way the flavors roll on my tongue this morning delights me. The feel of my bare feet curled up against each other under this desk. The sound of the keys clicking as I write these words. My senses are heightened and I am finding I enjoy this moment more because of it.
It’s so easy to “know” about the little things, about how we “should” be fully present in the moment to enjoy them, to enjoy life. But, somehow, to actually live with that awareness is much harder. Until it isn’t anymore.
Just like anything, it takes practice. And I am also grateful for the time and ability to do just that. Guess that is a bunch of things I am grateful for rolled into one! It’s funny how gratitude can snowball 🙂
A great book about presence and learning to be in the moment is Eckhart Tolle’s The Power of Now. I highly recommend it if you haven’t read it yet. For those who have, what did you think about it? I am totally curious to get new perspectives.
Wishing you all a very conscious and sense-heightened Tuesday!
