Yesterday was a bit of a rough day for me and I still feeling the effects of it today. So, I woke up wondering, what on earth am I grateful for now in this mood and state of mind?
I was talking to my friend the other day and telling him about my 31 Days of Gratitude. He had an interesting perspective that I just have to share with you here since it is so relevant. He said “Gratitude is not a feeling; it is an attitude.” Sometimes we won’t feel thankful for things, but it’s not about that. It’s about choosing to be grateful for all of it – for the joy, the miracles, the pain and the tears. It’s about being grateful for being alive.
Wow. This is exactly what I needed to hear. And so…
DAY FOUR: I am grateful for emotional pain and discomfort.
Another friend told me once, “When you are uncomfortable, you are growing.” Sometimes, we just wish growth was easier. I know I do. I am grateful I just get the chance.
