The Power of Gratitude – and one way to activate it that can change everything…

It’s that time of year again, when we are reminded to go within and remind ourselves of what we are grateful for in our lives.

When you think of gratitude, what do you think of? You likely think of the things you have, of the people in your life, of what you have accomplished and what you cherish. These are all good. It’s good to be thankful for what we are currently experiencing.

But here is where our idea of gratitude falls short: Gratitude is not a result of an experience.

Gratitude is a mentality of how we view our lives. It is a vibration of appreciation. And when we are in the vibration of appreciation, we attract even more to appreciate while we are enjoying what we are already experiencing. It’s a total win-win.

When you approach gratitude as the pathway, everything changes. Instead of experiencing THEN being grateful, being grateful shifts your experience.

How do you do this? Begin a Gratitude Practice. I did this a few years ago as a 30-day challenge and posted daily on my Facebook page. I noticed that the more I am grateful for, the more I am grateful for. I changed my lens. I changed my perspective, the way I viewed my life.

Start small and start true. Find one thing you appreciate. Maybe it’s the pants you are wearing. Maybe it’s the sunlight streaming in the window. You look over and see your cat and you love her and you heart grows even more. Then you think of your family and how grateful you are for them. And then….keep going.

This isn’t a “fake it ’til you make it”. If you do it that way, you’ll be in the wrong energy.

Be in the energy of truth and let it grow naturally, like a snowball.

One easy way to start is the first thing you wake up, write down 3 things you are grateful for. You might want to keep a journal by your bedside. This will take less than 1 minute and will start you off in an expanded mood and vibration for the day.

You have so much to be thankful for in your life. Have every day be Thanksgiving,

Until next time…
